First off, I'm sorry you're reading this list because either you or a close family/friend broke an ankle/foot and it's not FUN!! I broke my right ankle (fibula) May 2023 and then the same right ankle again, June 2024 (tibia this time). It was terrrrrible both times lol but especially the first. I couldn't put ANY weight on my foot for 6 straight weeks, whereas the last time in 2024 when I broke it, I was able to walk using my boot.
But two weeks after breaking it in 2023, with the non-weight bearing, I had my planned trip to Belgium and still went. These things saved me during my healing time and traveling while injured.
I flew from New Jersey to a layover in Iceland then to Belgium and vice versa on the way home with a broke ankle not being able to walk. I used wheelchair services in the airport and that made my life much easier.
If you're going through this too and wanna talk about it with someone who understands, lmk! It definitely would've helped me knowing someone who went through the same thing.
Before synthetic supplements filled pharmacy shelves, nature had already perfected one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet. Spirulina isn't a trend — it's a cyanobacterium that's been thriving in mineral-rich lakes for billions of years, and the research behind it spans decades. I've organised this list around the three benefits that matter most to women in perimenopause: steady energy and iron support, gut and immune health, and long-term cellular and brain renewal. One golden rule before you shop: always buy organic and third-party tested. Quality matters enormously with algae-based products — contaminated sources can carry heavy metals. Everything in this list meets that standard.
