The whole reason I started this hunt — my puppy treated every pad like a toy to shove around. These ones stick where you put them and don't leave residue when you peel them up.

Standard pads were a joke for my Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. He'd miss the edges constantly. Bigger pads solved about 80% of my cleanup problems overnight.

Nothing worse than thinking the pad caught everything, then lifting it to find a puddle underneath. I ruined a section of my hardwood before I found pads that actually seal liquid in.

Even with adhesive strips, some pads still bunch if your dog does that little scratch-and-spin move. A holder frame solved that completely for my terrier mix.

Disposable pads were costing me forty bucks a month. Reusable ones felt gross at first, but tossing them in the wash ended up being way easier than I expected.

Small space plus puppy smell equals guests who suddenly stop visiting. Controlling the odor was almost more important than the pad itself when I lived in a 600-square-foot studio.

My puppy ignored the pad completely for the first week and peed on my bath mat instead. Pads with built-in attractant scent actually got her to walk over and use them on her own.

Midnight accidents inside the crate were wrecking my sleep and my puppy's bedding. Finding the right pad-and-crate setup meant we both finally slept through the night.

Even the best pad setup has bad days. My puppy once missed so spectacularly it hit the wall. Having the right cleanup supplies within arm's reach kept me from losing my mind.

Tossing used pee pads into a regular trash can made my kitchen smell horrific within hours. Dedicated disposal systems sound extra until you live with the alternative.

Pads handle the direct hit, but splatter, drips, and tracking happen constantly. Protecting the floor around the pad saved me from an expensive refinishing job.

The whole point of pee pads is eventually not needing them. Getting my puppy to shift from indoor pads to outdoor potty took some specific tools and about three weeks of patience.
