The one that started it all — a thin metal card that slides right behind his license. He pulled his wallet out to pay for tacos and I spotted it. Two years he'd been carrying our date around without telling me.

After the wallet card worked so well, I went hunting for something he'd see every time he grabbed his truck keys. Turns out a small engraved keychain hits just as hard when it jingles against the ignition.

Getting a sentimental guy to wear jewelry is one thing. Getting a NOT sentimental guy to wear it? That took research. These actually look like something he'd pick out himself.

Not everything has to be metal and engraved. Sometimes a tiny photo tucked into something he already uses hits harder than anything expensive.

Roman numerals, coordinates, plain numbers — there are a dozen ways to stamp a date onto something he'll wear. Took me a while to find pieces that didn't look like they belonged on a teenager.

Some keepsakes don't need to travel — they just need to be the last thing he sees before he falls asleep. These sit right next to the phone charger and the half-empty water glass.

Sometimes the engraving isn't a date — it's actual words. Finding ways to say something real without it sounding like a greeting card took some trial and error. These got it right.

After accumulating all these little sentimental pieces, we needed somewhere to put them that wasn't a junk drawer. These hold everything from ticket stubs to that first terrible love note he wrote me on a napkin.
