Lost two pairs of earbuds to storm drains before I figured out what actually stays in my ears at a full sprint. These three survived hill repeats, rain, and my apparently weirdly shaped ear canals.

Nothing kills a morning run faster than a dead watch. I needed something that could grab enough charge while I brushed my teeth, not something that needs a full overnight commitment.

Almost got clipped by a turning SUV last October because I was wearing all black at 5:50 AM. Never again. Now I look like a human glow stick and I'm completely fine with that.

Spent a full year running with a water bottle in my hand like some kind of amateur. My grip was cramping, my stride was lopsided. These fixed all of that.

Tried being a one-shoe runner for years. Rotating two pairs cut my shin splint problems in half and my shoes last twice as long. These are what sit by my front door on alternating nights.

Wore a cotton t-shirt on a humid August run exactly once. Ended up with chafing so bad I looked like I'd been attacked. Now everything I own for running is synthetic and pre-sorted.

Chafing ruined more runs for me than bad weather ever did. Now applying anti-chafe stuff is part of my night-before ritual right after I set out my clothes.

My phone armband used to migrate to my elbow by mile two. I looked like I was wearing a blood pressure cuff wrong. These actually stay where you put them.

Used to just collapse on the couch after runs and wonder why I was always sore. Now I spend five minutes with these while my coffee brews and the difference in how I feel the next morning is wild.

Running on an empty stomach works for some people. For me it means bonking at mile four and walking home in shame. These are what I set on the counter the night before for a quick grab-and-go.
